ASSE 2–0 Nîmes: 2018 starts very well !

Even if he knows there is still a lot to do and that his players need to work hard, Jean-Louis Gasset is aware of the importance of the win earned by his players against Nîmes on Sunday afternoon. Les Verts start in the best manner the new year. Thanks to two goals scored in the second half, ASSE will play in the last 32 stage of the Coupe de France.

After facing some difficulties in the first part of the game, Gasset decided to change tactics during the half-time and put Robert Beric in. This change helped the Verts to play higher on the pitch and to create more scoring possibilities. On a perfect Rémy Cabella free-kick, the Slovenian striker scored with a header his first goal of the season. Five minutes later, Jonathan Bamba took the opportunity to score the second goal of the game after a great Cheick M'Bengue cross and then secured the victory.

Les Verts will now play against Toulouse in Ligue 1 on Sunday, still in Geoffroy-Guichard stadium.
