The meeting
It's a difficult feeling. It was a very important match. We were hoping for better, already in terms of performance. Tonight, Rennes were a better team. We had some good possession in the opening minutes. But very quickly, from the 6th/7th minute onwards, we lost a lot of balls and gave our opponents too many opportunities to counter-attack. In the second half, we controlled the ball better, but didn't create any chances. We had possession, but we weren't able to trouble our opponents' defense. Overall, our performance didn't allow us to pick up any points. It's hard to put it into words after this game, but we were too immature and lacked discipline.
His feeling
It was perhaps our worst performance since I arrived, at least at home. Obviously, I'm not happy with the performance. We need to work on the content. This championship demands a lot more of us. Staying in L1 is tough, and that's what we have to fight for. There are 13 games left to play.
The fans' disappointment
I've said it many times: the fans are very important at Saint-Étienne. They want to stay in L1, the club means a lot to them, and they're right to be frustrated after a game like tonight's. When we win, it's great to be able to count on them. When we lose, we have to accept that frustration. It's not a problem for me. Tonight, everyone's frustrated.
