Painful defeat for Les Vertes
Despite a promising first half, Les Vertes suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Paris FC (4-0) on Friday evening in the opening match of matchday 15.

A match against PFC, one of the big guns in the Arkema Première Ligue, promises to be a complicated affair for any opponent. The home side had the first chance of the game in the very first minute. Launched down the left, Bussy raced towards goal and tried her luck on the edge of the area, but it was not enough to beat Maryne Gignoux, who was well in position. The Parisians dominated and took possession of the ball, but were unable to get any closer to the Les Vertes goal. A great chance could have come for the Stéphanoises just before half-time when Adèle Connesson found Cindy Caputo between the three Parisian defenders, leaving the whole centre of the pitch free. Our French international managed to turn and eliminate her opponents, but was unable to provide Sarah Cambot with a good ball. The first half was a controlled affair for Les Vertes, who went into the break without having had too many chances, and ended goalless.
The second half started in much the same way as the first, but with the Parisians finishing well. The French striker and former Verte Garbino was found between Easther Mayi Kith and Chloé Tapia. Her shot went just over the keeper (Paris FC 1-0 ASSE, 48'). Just six minutes after the opening whistle, Garbino again stood out in the St Etienne box. His cross-shot ended up in the net (Paris FC 2-0 ASSE, 54th). Although Les Vertes managed to repel all of Paris FC's attempts in the first half, the home side managed to break the deadlock in less than ten minutes. The players from Le Forez managed to create a few chances in the second half, but failed to get back on level terms. Bussy, at the back of the defence, fired in a shot that Maryne Gignoux had to parry away. Bourdieu, who had remained alert, finished off the scoring (Paris FC 3-0 ASSE, 72nd). Les Vertes fell behind one last time a few minutes later when Bussy, alone in the middle, picked up the ball and just had to push it into the net (Paris FC 4-0 ASSE, 76th).
Now it's time for the international break. Les Vertes, still eighth in the league, will host Le Havre at home on 1 March.
