Reserve group lose at Chamalières

Postponed due to snowfall, the meeting between Chamalières and ASSE counted double this Saturday in Auvergne. Both teams had the opportunity to make a big impact in the standings. Unfortunately, despite a solid start to the game, Les Verts were reduced to 10 men after only a quarter of the game following the expulsion of Israel Kinunga. ASSE conceded two goals in the second half, eventually losing 2-0.

A result that does not suit the Stéphanois, who are still stuck in the danger zone. They travel to fifth-placed Lyon La Duchère on Saturday at 6pm.

Coach's reaction

“It's a game where you have to finish 0-0, despite being 10 against 11 all game. In the first ten minutes, we controlled the meeting and created chances... But a red card so quickly complicates everything. Then we gave the game away on individual errors. We hadn't lost since November 3, and we know that consistency is important at this level. We have no margin. This game should have given us some breathing space in the standings, so we're going to keep fighting.”
