The Reserve team holds Bourg-Péronnas to a draw
This Saturday, one week before the resumption of the National 3 season, the Reserve team regained momentum by facing Football Bourg-en-Bresse Péronnas 01 in a midday friendly match. Seeking playing time to compensate for their suspensions, Yunis Abdelhamid and Ibrahim Sissoko notably participated in this game, which ended in a goalless draw, 0-0. Several young players from the training academy, such as Luan Gadegbeku and Helmi Ben Tiba, also took part in this encounter.
The Reserve team is now preparing to return to league competition. Their next match is scheduled against Hauts Lyonnais next Sunday at the Centre Sportif Robert-Herbin (3 PM).
Coach’s Reaction
"This was our third match against a National-level team since the beginning of the season, and these are always very interesting contests. We played a pretty solid first half, where we managed to maintain possession and control the game. What we lacked was efficiency to capitalize on our chances. That’s where we need to make progress in matches like these. The second half was more balanced, and we conceded a few opportunities. This match, in any case, allowed us to give playing time to everyone: the professional players who were suspended, as well as the younger players from the 2007/2008 generation, who are starting to experience a different level of demand. We will need to replicate this kind of performance next week to kick off the second half of the season on the right foot."
